In Google Maps, when you’re zoomed out such that you’re looking at satellite imagery (instead of images taken by airplane), around 7 ticks from the furthest zoom, the scale gets larger the closer you are to the equator, and smaller the closer you get to the poles!

After watching the video of Apple’s event yesterday, I think I was wrong in assuming that they meant recurring subscription payments would be possible for apps.
It sounds like they only meant the functionality that was then demonstrated: buying add-ons from within the app. And Apple’s no-demo, no-timebomb policy most likely precludes the use of that mechanism to hack apps to behave as if...

I am extremely EXTREMELY shocked to find that Portland is the #1 unhappiest city in the US. For planners is a very important example of smart growth, a concept that is being promoted heavily in the Province of Ontario.
