Dear Jimbo F and Stevey H,
We all knew there had to be a deficit. Low revenues + increased EI payments + “stimulus package” can only mean one thing. Next time no lies, please? Seriously, I don’t think this $50B deficit is surprising in the slightest.
As for the CBC’s claims of “is this government REALLY conservative?!” (aired on May 28th’s The National), I say this: If the conservatives had a majority, they would have had their way and probably have spent a lot less on their stimulus package for things like infrastructure (NB: I’m not saying the spending is necessarily bad. Please don’t reblog with “OMG BUT INFRASTRUCTURE IS GOOD!!!!11 HOW CAN YOU BE OPPOSED?!?!?!!?”). They’re not conservative because they have the liberals and ndp breathing down their neck, not because they’re all lefty big spenders (I’m not insulting lefties here. Please don’t reblog with “WTF WHY DO YOU HATE LEFTIES?!”).
