The landing at pearson was rough… And I mean really rough. As in the plane shook violently on touchdown and the pilots had to brake incredibly hard to get the jet to stop (I feel like the overshot the runway a little).
Even better, my little cold I had a while ago exploded during the decent into some sort of bigger cold. Now my voice is gone. boo.
Just for the record, the whole landing BEFORE you hit the tarmac is pretty much controlled by the onboard computer, based on very accurate radio measurements. So it would be his fault for coming in too fast, but there were no concerns that he would miss the runway. (In defense of my employer hehe)
Of course there are concerns. Two cases:
- Air France Flight 358 - Slides off runway at Pearson onto the 401
- Air France Flight 447 - Malfunction of autopilot
Now one would say “It’s just Air France” or “Airbus! haha” but there are still real possibilities of malfunction.
Update: The takeoff was also really bumpy. The seatbelt sign didn’t go off for at least 40 minutes into the flight and we had to go through a minor storm front. There were many updrafts and sharp drops. Right after we cleared it, I went to the washroom and the panels were all open and packs of paper towels on the floor.
