theseer:

Cost: $150 with the current promotion
Monthly Plan: As low as $25.
Compare iPhone:
Cost: $179 for 8GB version
Monthly Plan: As low as $60. Ya. So who wins?

A) The dream isn’t that great.
B) That price comparison is completely unfair. $60 iPhone plan includes a data plan, the $25 Android plan does not. Add a data plan to the Android devices or remove the data plan from the iPhone and you’ll notice the monthly cost is essentially the same. (Edit: I’m not 100% sure you can get the iPhone at a discounted price if you don’t get the data plan. However, with the android phones, you’d want data anyway)
C) iPhone will have a $99 version out once the iPhone 3GS comes out.
That said, I would likely buy the Magic over the iPhone… But I haven’t decided yet. I also disagree with your claim of “iPhone is over”.
