Dear Toronto/Ontario

Here are some tips to make your transit less user-unfriendly:

  1. Replace your grumpy, bitchy staff with polite and etiquette people who don’t treat you like trash and threaten to fine you when you’ve made a mistake. Also, please make your tickets have useful information (such as “This ticket is only valid between stops A and B”) instead of random numbers that no one understands (example “02-91”).
  2. How about putting electronic ticket gates and card readers so that way you can charge and ride, deducting from your balance as you proceed through the gates. Examples: Suica/Pasmo, Octopus card, Mifare, etc. You can even get rid of the bitchy staff! It works on busses, too.
  3. Subway starts at 9AM on Sundays? Seriously?  If you want people to stop driving cars, how about making it more convenient to use the subway. It’s not like you lack capacity underground.
  4. How about giving people better incentive to get metropasses? Riding more than 2 times a day for 6 times a week is not a discount.

In conclusion, what the eff.
